Sport Manitoba Central Region is pleased to announce the
following Bingo opportunity:
SATURDAY, AUGUST 14, 2010
6:00 PM to 9:45
PM - New Evening Bingo Session
McPhillips
Street Station @ 484 McPhillips St. Winnipeg
The group(s) selected
to work this Bingo will provide a total of 7 volunteers who must be
at least 18 years of age. Volunteers are asked to arrive at
the Casino no later than 5:45
PM. The Bingo session will have an earning potential
of $2,250.
In order to be considered for any Bingo,
a Bingo Application Form must be completed and include a signed cover letter
indicating the nature of the sport development initiative/event/program
and the benefit expected should you receive this grant. Please note that uniforms and
travel outside the province are not expenses that are eligible
for funding assistance. To receive an application or

Get Ready for the 2012 Power Smart
Manitoba Summer Games
|
It's time to start planning for the 2012 Power Smart
Manitoba Summer Games. The Summer Games will be held in Swan
Valley from July 15-21, 2012. Many of the sports are busy
planning their try-out /selection process and athlete development
opportunities for the Games with some identifying to start next
summer.

Team
Central is currently seeking Mission Staff.
As
Mission Staff, you will help to ensure the successful preparation,
staging, and operation of Team Central. Mission Staff become
the heart of Team Central by demonstrating team spirit and
sportsmanship. Each Mission Staff are normally assigned to two
sport teams during the Games - one sport for each 3-day phase.
If they are unavailable for both phases, arrangements can be made to
participate in one phase. All Mission Staff will be
trained/educated regarding their sport assignment roles and
responsibilities.

Call for Nominations - Geoff Gowan
Award
|
The
Geoff Gowan Award was created in 1996 to honour former Coaching
Association of Canada (CAC) president Geoffrey Gowan, CM, PhD. The
award recognizes lifetime contribution to coaching development and is
awarded to a coach who has presented a positive public image of
coaching and enhanced the role of the coach with the Canadian public.

Women to Watch Grant
|
Women
to Watch is a monthly grant program administered by Sport Manitoba
and Coaching Manitoba designed to assist young girls and women to
further their involvement in their chosen sport.
Each
month a $500 sport grant will be awarded to a female athlete/female
team, female official or volunteer, as well as a female coach who
meets the criteria listed. The funds for this grant are provided by
Sport Manitoba and Coaching Manitoba.

Norman Regional Manager Job Opening
|
Would you like to
become part of the Sport Manitoba team?
Sport Manitoba is currently looking for a Regional
Manager for the Norman Region. The Manager will work out of the Sport
Manitoba regional office in Thompson.
He/she will be responsible for supporting the growth of
community-based sport in the Norman Region. Duties include managing
the annual Norman Winter Games and the 2012 Power Smart
Manitoba-Norman Regional Team, as well as Sport Manitoba's
Regional-Community Sport Development Grants, Community Sport
Alliances and KidSport™ programs.
