Greetings!
The arrival of spring is just around the corner, and so
is the arrival of Sport Manitoba's 2011-12 Regional - Community Sport
For Life Grant Manual.
You will see a variety of changes to our grant manual
this year, as we are aligning our grants with the Canadian Sport For
Life model. The new manual will take effect on April 1,
2011. Please note that we will be using the revised bingo
criteria for awarding our 1st quarter bingo (deadline March 15), so
if you'd like to see a copy of the criteria, please contact our
office. We hope to have copies of the grant manual available
for our sport partners by the end of March but we will also be
sending out a special grant edition eNews. This will provide
details on all the grants available to our sport partners, so keep
your eyes peeled for our email!
Central Region's 2010-2011 fiscal year will
come to an end on March 31, 2011. We remind all grant
applicants, if you have not already done so, to forward your post
event reports to finalize your application to receive the eligible
funding. Grant payments will not be processed after March 31,
2011.
Feedback
and suggestions for future issues are welcome. We can even help
you share your news and information, too. Call the Central
Office at 822-6735 for more information.
If you find the information in our eNews valuable please
forward it onto your friends, family, and colleagues.
Yours in Sport,
Leanne Traynor & Phyllis Boulton

Mission Staff are a vital component of Team Central. The
role of the mission staff is to support the team to which they are
assigned and for Team Central in general. The mission staff is there

help things run more smoothly. The main function of the mission
staff is one of liaison and communication with the Host Society and
the regional teams. They also are expected to troubleshoot if any
problems arise, to ensure that everyone's needs (for competing at the
Games) are met or that they are addressed and to be moral support
(cheerleading) for the athletes, coaches and managers.
Mission staff will work together as a unit in the 12
months prior to the Games and during the Games. We ask that you
bring to your role as mission staff the following: commitment,
patience, the ability to listen, sensitivity, flexibility, passion,
respect and trust.
