KidSport
- So All Kids Can Play!
|
This spring, the Central Region KidSport
Committee was successful in making dreams come true for 54 children
from around the region. The Central Region KidSport Committee
was able to allocate $4,324.00 to help these children participate in
their favorite sports by helping to cover the cost of
registration fees. The committee hopes that all the
children funded will enjoy taking part in their chosen sport, which
included baseball, basketball, football, gymnastics, high school
athletics, soccer and swimming.
To help fund all 54 athletes, KidSport received support
from the Canadian Tire Jump Start Foundation. KidSport Central
Region is currently a partner and member of two Canadian Tire Jump
Start Foundation chapters: Heartland (Winkler) and Portage La
Prairie. We could like to thank the Canadian Tire Jump Start
Foundation for allowing us to partner with such a great organization.

Sport for Life Gala!
|
The awards given out at Sport Manitoba's Sport for Life

and volunteers in amateur sport in our province.
This
year one of Central Region's own athletes was the recipient of the
Great West-Life Youth Volunteer of the Year Award - Alex Warburton -

the high school sport delivery system. A Grade 12 student at
Sanford Collegiate and a member of the Canada Games Manitoba

two years. Working with principals, superintendents, and
government officials, she has contributed to rule making concerning
