Provincial Sport Organizations are on the move
Our renovation of the Sport for Life Centre at 145
Pacific Avenue is almost complete and ready for occupancy at the end of
January. With the lease at 200 Main Street up this month, residents of
200 Main Street will be moving to temporary office space for a 4 - 6
week period. Where is your sport going in the interim and how can they
be reached?

In Motion Snow Trek
As the mercury plunges and the snow begins to fall, your
first instinct may be to hibernate until spring. But, get up off the
couch, put down the remote, and discover the real potential of
Winnipeg's winter at the first annual "Snow Trek - Winter in
motion". It promises be a fun-filled afternoon for the whole
family to get outside for some cross-country skiing, snowshoeing,
skating, tobogganing and walking. No experience, no problem! There will
be FREE cross-country ski instruction and guided snowshoe hikes. No
equipment, no problem! There will be a limited supply of FREE
cross-country skis & snowshoes.

Olympic Community Celebrations
Be part of Olympic history as the Olympic flame travels
across the country. Celebrations have already been held in Churchill
and Thompson with the flame making its way to southern Manitoba
starting January 5th. With major stops in Steinbach, Winkler, Portage
La Prairie, Neepawa and Brandon there is sure to be a community
celebration near you.

Why have Canadian team sports formed a coalition?
United in their concern for the future of their sports,
nineteen national sport-governing bodies have joined forces to raise awareness
of the importance of team sport. They say that approximately 17% of
Sport Canada’s direct grants and contributions go to team sport
organizations, and that’s a disparity. Agree or disagree?
